PHOTOSHOP Autosmoothing setup
Many of you may have already noticed that using the free transform tool in photoshop may cause your images to lose a bit of sharpness and/or turn them to be completelly useless.
A simple QR code can be the best example and the a real problem to resize when having bad setup in photoshop.
To change the photoshop setup just go to: Photoshop ⇒ Preferences ⇒ General ⇒ Image Interpolation=Nearest Neighbour
Changing this should allow you to resize without any image smoothing and loss of sharpness.
Any of the billinear and bicubic options will cause your images to get smoothed when resized.
This setup is most helpfull for people doing "exact or pixelart" graphic.
Below you can see where is the setup box located:
Example of result when using: Nearest neighbour (preserve hard edges) setup
(the edges stay sharp no matter how much you resize - all the details stay clear and visible)
Example of result when using: Billinear or Bicubic options
(the edges lose sharpness and go smooth - the loss of detail and overall blur effect in this case is unacceptable)
I hope this tutorial helped you as much as finding this out did to me :)
I know it´s hard to see the difference on the small images but trust me in photoshop under high resolution your eyes will burn :)
